The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition is presenting two new exhibitions this fall.
These new exhibitions debut one year after the massive five-alarm fire that ripped through the coalition’s former home of 35 years, the Beard and Robinson Warehouse Stores at 481 Van Brunt St., leaving them without a permanent space.

Brooklyn Democratic organizational meeting descends into chaos as fight over party control continues

The Brooklyn Democratic Party’s organizational meeting was marked by hours of delays, disputed votes, and protests Wednesday at New York City College of Technology, as party members approved controversial rule changes, while leaving the larger battle over who will lead the county party unresolved.
Expected to begin at 10 a.m., proceedings didn’t get underway until around 1:30 p.m. and lasted around eight hours. Problems arose with proxy registrations, voter lists, and the electronic voting clickers. There were also major disputes over who could vote, and whether votes were being accurately counted.
