Happy Tuesday in New York City, where the hottest new nursery is 30,000 feet high.

There’s been a lot of negative news coming out of our city’s airports in the last few months — from epic security lines to unwelcome ICE agents to collisions on the runway — but this week, JFK Airport played host to a truly life-affirming story when a baby was born en route from Kingston, Jamaica.

“We have a pregnant passenger who is going into labor at this time,” the pilot of flight BW005 told Air Traffic Control in an audio obtained by CBS News

“Is it out yet?” a controller responds. “Tell her she’s got to name it Kennedy.”

The delivery was carried out without complications and the mother and child successfully rendezvoused with the airport’s medical team upon arrival. No emergency was declared onboard.

“Upon arrival, the mother and newborn were attended by medical personnel and are receiving necessary care,” a Caribbean Airlines spokesperson told PIX11. “The airline commends the professionalism and measured response of its crew, who managed the situation in accordance with established procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of all onboard.”

Name: Kennedy. DOB: April 4, 2026. Place of Birth: Somewhere over the Atlantic. Can you still become president of the United States if you were born in international airspace?

  • On This Day in 1933: The Cullen-Harrison Act went into effect on this day in 1933. Beginning at 12:01 a.m., people could buy beer that was 3.2 percent alcohol by weight instead of the “near beer” they suffered with all through Prohibition. The public lined up on “New Beer’s Eve” at breweries in 20 states and Washington, D.C., and purchased 1.5 million barrels. April 7 remains an unofficial holiday celebrating beer in the U.S.
